Today Spring officially began.

For an Australian living in Holland, this is pure heaven - sunshine! In order to celebrate I rode my bike to work. When ever the sun is shining I try to ride to work, which is almost an hours ride away.

It feels like it takes forever, but when I thought about it (walking to the bus stop, waiting for the bus, getting on the bus, sitting still in traffic, walking from the bus stop to work) it works out to be about the same amount of time on the bus as it is on the bike. Plus on my bike, I get to wake up with the sun in my face and the wind in my hair. I pass meadows which are all shades of green, I hear the birds singing and smell the fresh air. It's a wonderful way to wake up.

Now heres hoping the Spring is here to stay.

Tipi Love

Last year my news years resolution was to hand make everything when it came to presents and gifts. Then when my friend Lisa said that she was going to get married I put on my d.i.y thinking cap. My ideas were endless, but when she mentioned we would camp at the wedding location (and after recently seeing this post) I had an "a-ha" moment. I asked her if they had organised where they would sleep and she replied...."in our tent". This was not an option! The happy couple needed a bridal sweet. So after months of top secret measuring, cutting and sewing (and blood, sweat and some tears) it was vert first tipi.

Some fabrics were donated by family and friends of the happy couple.
I even made the bed linen.

My tipi was even featured in Job's new CD Happy Camper, which was released earlier this year. Check out his website to have a listen to his tunes.

I am an Aussie girl who followed my heart to Holland. I love DIY, photography, 50’s fashion, picnics, good coffee, all things sweet, music, pretty things, sunshine and smiles.

Here will follow a collection of the things I do, see, like and make.
